NEMO Club

32_eagle_Freemasons133The NEMO Scottish Rite Club, one of the most active in the St. Louis Valley, serves the North East Area of Missouri – meeting six times a year (April, May, June & September, October, November on the fourth Wednesday evenings), at various restaurants, and dining rooms in the several cities where our wide spread membership resides. Our membership finds brethren located in several of the neighboring counties of North East Missouri, as constituent members.

Our Club Degree Team presents the Seventh Degree – Provost and Judge; the Twenty-Second Degree – Knight of the Royal Axe (or Prince of Libanus); and the Twenty-Sixth Degree – Prince of Mercy (or Scottish Trinitarian) when requested, at Scottish Rite Reunions. We have occasionally served as Host in the S.R. Cathedral Lounge, providing Free Refreshments – soft drinks, cookies/candy – to all members, and guests during Reunions

One of our main projects is our support of the Elsberry, Missouri Satellite Walker Scottish Rite Clinic for Childhood Language Disorders (associated with the clinic in St. Louis) that can process eighteen young children at a time, with this learning problem (a waiting list prevails). From time to time we provide necessary supplies that are requested by the clinic – such as reading books, paper products, construction paper, pencils, Crayons, glue, batteries, Soap, Bath-room Tissue, etc. We also provide volunteers to assist qualified Language Pathologists from the S. R. Clinic, and Orthopedic Doctors from Shriner’s “Children’s Hospital” – St. Louis who screen candidate children at the Lincoln County Hospital in Troy, Missouri, for acceptance into the Free Treatment services of both the Language Clinic, and the Shriner’s Hospital.

Our club provides the “Horse Power” – so to speak, for the needs of the Scottish Rite in our area. Our combined resources, as a club, help promote interest in Master Masons to join the Rite, as we entertain them and their ladies as our guests at club dinners.

Membership is $10.00 per year, and the Rite considers our ladies as being voting members of the club, so they receive “Life Membership” in the club – as long as their Mason renews his yearly membership.

We function under By-Laws approved by the S.R – Orient of Missouri, with Peace and Harmony prevailing – So Mote It Be!!.
