219 years ago, on May 31, 1801 – The “Supreme Council of the 33rd Degree for the United States of America” (now the Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction) was formed in Charleston, South Carolina with Col. John Mitchell presiding as the first Sovereign Grand Commander. While we have had an actual in-person gathering on this date in the past, due to COVID-19 we were unable to gather today. That being said, celebrate as you will and give a toast to the Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction.
